My dad used to hate me for wearing black pants most of the time. He could not realize my logic behind wearing it - it suited most of the shirts I had, and also need not be washed for days together. He is a staunch believer of astrology, and always considered black to be bad.

I could keep pondering about the real essence and real meanings behind the usage of colours. Few questions that instantly struck me were - if black has to be considered a bad colour, why do Indians dye their hair black when they gray, why do Indians apply kajal that is black to their eyes, and the last thing that hit me the most was – I am dark myself, does that mean I am BAD?!
I observed few incidents happening around me. People in North India are clad in white when they attend a funeral, a widow in India is asked to wear a white saree, and also the spirits in India are considered to be white in colour (you can confirm this by watching few Ramsay production movies)! So, white was used to depict sadness in India.
Next I witnessed a funeral in an English movie and to my surprise I saw most people clad in black! And also Satan according to the Bible is considered to be black in colour. My next question was - on what basis do people consider a colour bad or good?
Thanks to my insight, I got an answer. People tend to consider things bad, what they actually aren’t. For instance, Indians considered themselves as dark people and hence they considered colour opposite to black as bad, and people living in the US considered themselves as White people and hence considered colour opposite to White as bad.
Hence Indian spirits are white in colour, and US satan is black in colour!
