It happens only in India – part 1

As Indians, we have myriads of shortcomings that have kept our country categorised as a third-world nation since 1947, and unfortunately, this status may persist for the next 500 years or more. Factors such as poverty, casteism, arrogance, laziness, lack of cleanliness, poor governance, corrupt politicians, a corrupt judiciary system, and overpopulation have all contributed to the challenging environment we live in. We often overlook these harsh realities, finding solace instead in the concept of God.

However, if it weren’t for the divinity and miracles that unfold in this part of the world, our mighty civilization might have crumbled ages ago.

Personally, I stopped praying to God a couple of decades ago when I realized the true reason of His existence and His mighty role in micromanaging the planet. However, I still visit temples and shrines frequently to align myself with the cosmic energies that are beyond human comprehension. And this particular incident happened during one of my visits to a particular temple in Tamil Nadu (one of the southern states of India).

My wife and I neither had any specific prayers nor were planning to have any children—we were 42 and 38 years old, respectively, which we felt was a bit too old to expand our family. After completing our temple rituals, we were enjoying our prasad when a stranger approached us out of nowhere. He placed his hand on my shoulder and said, “Go around the sanctum sanctorum 24 times, and the next time you visit this temple, you will come with a son.” I simply replied, “Okay,” and then he walked away.

Given our ages, it was clear from our appearances that we were not recently married, and there was no reason for the stranger to assume we were childless. At our ages, we could have had teenage children at home while we visited the temple for some ‘us’ time. Nevertheless, I asked my wife if she wanted to walk around the sanctum sanctorum 24 times, and she readily agreed. This was in the early months of year 2017.

In the later months of 2017, we backpacked through Europe, traveling across various countries for nearly nine months. In August 2018, my wife began showing signs of the first trimester of pregnancy. At first, I ignored it. She kept puking, and I thought it was food poisoning. She felt nauseated, and I attributed it to low blood pressure. Finally, one day she vomited so loudly it could be heard a kilometer away. I decided to take her for a blood test, and it was confirmed: she was pregnant at 38!

We had to cut short our Europe trip and return home for the delivery. While any gender was fine with me, I couldn’t help but recall what the man at the temple had said: “Go around the sanctum sanctorum 24 times, and the next time you visit this temple, you will come with a son.” I had my doubts, of course.

The delivery date finally arrived, and I still remember the evening when the doctor rushed out of the operating room to announce, “It’s a boy.”

Well, in 2023, we visited the same temple with our son.

PS: This blog is meant to share my personal experiences with the esoteric, not to promote any specific temple or saint. If that were the case, I would have included names, addresses, phone numbers, and maps. Please refrain from emailing me for further details. Trust that if destiny favors you, it will lead you to even more remarkable esoteric miracles and experiences. Just believe 🙂
