The Mughals came with swords.
The British came with suits.
The Americans came with software.
One after another, they ruled.
One after another, we served.
India was under Mughal domination for 650 years.
Then came 190 years of British colonial rule.
And now, without firing a bullet, the United States has colonised our economy, our culture, our digital lives.
Every generation has had a different master.
But one thing stayed constant—Indians adjusting, obeying, and adapting.
We opened our gates for invaders.
We handed over our trade to colonisers.
And now, we offer our data, dreams, and dollars to Silicon Valley.
The tools changed—from cannons to corporations.
The uniforms changed—from redcoats to hoodies.
But the submission remained.
We call it diplomacy.
We call it development.
We call it globalisation.
But history has a harsher word for it—submission.
It’s time we asked ourselves:
When will we stop being willing subjects of every empire that knocks on our door with a smile?
When will India stop outsourcing its soul?
