People feel orgasmic to mock an astrologer, always!

I prefer to start my conversation with any mortal with kindness, in spite of being completely conscious that kindness is not what I am going to get in return always.

A lot of people carry an aura about their educational qualifications, or the educational institutions they graduated from. Many others brim with confidence being associated with a brand or a firm they work for – temporarily. And in India, yes, humans who are considered as upper castes by the Indian government census carry an air and a bright halo shining visibly behind their head.

In India, though 99% per cent of the people use Vedic Astrology in someway or the other (like muhurta for marriage, or marriage match making, or good time for gruha pravesh or starting a business, or visiting a particular Hindu temple at a particular time), only 10 per cent of them believe in it or choose to consult an astrologer. And yes, if the services are provided free of cost or at the cost of a bottle of beer or a movie ticket – then many more are interested in interacting with an astrologer.

In my experience as a professional astrologer for 20+ years, the main reason why people don’t believe in astrology is that they don’t know or don’t understand what exactly their horoscopes can reveal about their lives, and there are none to educate them as well.

When I personally met a great astrologer in my life, I realised that my whole life was a cosmic joke – a joke played by the God himself. How can my life unravel exactly as it was visible in my horoscope? An experience that still haunts me.

I hate to introduce myself as an astrologer to anybody, until and unless they insist to know about what I do for a living. And I don’t meet many who have time to ask or know about the other person they meet. In fact they only have time till they get over blabbering about their own personal achievements.

I once happened to meet a friend of a close friend at a small party, who happened to be a coin collector. The motherfucker spoke about his coins and currency note collection for almost 2 hours, and I am not sure if he even bothered to ask me my name. Another time I by mistake blurted out my profession to one of the neighbours from the apartment I dwell in, and that asshole spoke to me about ‘his’ astrological achievements for close to one hour! No, he wasn’t an astrologer but was someone who had read a lot of books on astrology while travelling by IRCTC.

“He is my younger brother, Kennedi,” introduced my older sister, a wealth manager in one of the leading banks in India, to one of her high profile clients. No, I had not gone to meet the high profile client – I was just chauffeuring my sister around. And no, I never visited the high profile woman’s house – we met outside her residence gate. We greeted each other, and the next thing my sister said to her client was, “you know what? My brother is an astrologer.” And then came the nasty comment for which I haven’t got an answer yet. “It is not important whether he is an astrologer, but it is about how accurate he is at his predictions,” the high profile woman replied. Holy cow! Holy fuck!! Holy whatever!!! I was completely short of words. Now what is expected of me? One minute into the first meeting and a stranger has the balls (not literally) to spit on your face for no reason.

I could not tell her to visit my website to know for herself, I could not tell her about the number of highly educated people who consult me, and I could not tell her, “it is not about being rich, but how honestly you made those crores of money in a single life which is mathematically impossible.”

We left, but the comment was stuck in my head for which I still don’t have a fitting reply (if as a reader of this blog, you get the right reply drop me a mail at kennedig@yahoo.com)

In 2022 I had this strange numbness in my left leg and left hand, and by doctor’s protocol a heart attack or a stroke was possible. I knew, it wasn’t anything major but then I am not a fool ‘NOT’ to take an expert’s advice when needed. I consulted the best neurologist in the city, who advised me to do a MRI scan to confirm. After that horrible experience of being under the MRI scanner for 30 mins, the report showed everything normal. The doctor asked me, “what do you do?” I said, “I am an astrologer.” And there was an instant smirk on his face, which I ignored. “You see these things cannot be predicted,” he said looking at my wife who was standing next to me. The doctor smiled once again forwarding me the prescription where he had scribbled names of vitamin A and vitamin D tablets.

Well, I had told my wife in the year 2010 that we will be rushing to the hospital for my health sake in the year 2022.
