How motherfuckers want to slowly, kindly and smoothly impose Hindi on you!

Stranger – For your knowledge, US is a nation equivalent to India as a nation. So if they choose to play English, how is it comparable to Kannada?

kennedigopalan – US has only one language, while India has many. There is no equivalent whatsoever.

Stranger – US major spoken language is English, India’s major spoken language is Hindi. What do you think would have happened if US had different state languages? Do you not think they would English? One common is the solution – your example of US proves it!

kennedigopalan – If government had brought out proper population control in North India, Hindi would have never had that luxury. And Hindi is not a national language of India. The way Anna said, ‘if we go by numbers, then crow should be made the national bird of India and not peacock;).’ I don’t answer ‘what if’ questions:). Read that blog to get enlightened- https://gopalan.vesana.com/2008/03/i-am-with-raj-thackeray.html

Stranger – You lost your track pretty quickly! Now you think it’s the population management that should be controlled. The say the same for Muslims, no?

Well, how could you remove the official language of India from the public lamdmarks? I am marwari and speak hindi. You are Kannadiga, learn hindi! Speak Kannada with your family, friends etc.

Speak Hindi to connect to a wider audience!

kennedigopalan – Hindus multiplied 3 times, and Muslims Multiplied 2 times post 1947. Let us keep that debate aside. I care a damn if you speak in Hindi or not. And I am not a Kannadiga and on top of that I am a Hindi pandit formally. But still I will speak in Tamil in Tamil Nadu and in English in rest of India. Because I personally don’t consider Hindi having any literary depth or history, and I don’t consider people residing in North India as wider audience:).

Stranger –  You tell us how is it possible to learn multiple languages alongside a 10 hours work shift.

I might work in Karnataka, move to Maharashtra, then Telangana etc.

This is a major task you are asking from millions of pople who relocate and already work under toxic managers.

On the other hand, I believe Hindi is easy to speak language. This is because so many states are able to speak it.

Stranger – Do you think Hindus forces the pahadis to learn Hindi? Sikkim, Assam, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh etc. – their non-hindu locals happily speak decent Hindi (we never forced them)!

It’s a simple to speak, perfect for a common language candidacy! Do you believe there should be no common language? That would be like people from different nations coming together with no sense of belongingness.

If you are a pandit, you would be smart enough to understand the importance of Hindi

kennedigopalan – I am a polyglot. I know a bit of Arabic too – that doesn’t mean I give any damn importance to it. And again, I care a damn who speaks Hindi happily leaving behind their own beautiful local language. ‘We’, who ‘we’ – this holier than thou attitude is what we South Indians hate the most from our bottom of the heart. India is a union of states, decide where you want to settle and learn that language.

Never try imposing Hindi into the South – Northies might take that shit, but not the South Indians.

kennedigopalan – Btw the conversation between you and me is taking place in English. Fair enough. If you type your messages in Hindi, I shall reply in Tamil. It is as simple as that.

kennedigopalan – Who cares what language you feel is easy? I might feel Polish is easy so? If you think so many states are able to speak, then settle in those states. But imposing your language down south because you find it easy is some shit the Southies will never take :).

Stranger –

  1. As previously mentioned, it’s not about me! Many states find Hindi simple enough!
  2. By speaking in Hindi, you are not leaving behind your own language

Do you even read your own texts? This isn’t imposing Hindi onto you, infact, what you are doing is called ‘imposing’!

3. Like you mentioned ‘settle’

, well sure! It someone has decided to settle in Karnataka – they should learn Kannada. Simple enough.

But most of us shift to different states.

kennedigopalan – In that case develop your own Hindi speaking states and settle there. And with this attitude my hatred towards Hindi is only increasing:). And we shall never accept Hindi – never ever :). Well thanks for your inputs – you gave me a post for my blog. I am sure by looking at your attitude, people will only hate Hindi more.

Over and out.

PS:

And I personally request all my readers to never reply back in Hindi even if you know the language. Stick to your local state language – shops, malls, offices, cabs, vegetable vendors – and let the other person learn how to interact with you in your native language. Every mother fucking language is easy if someone puts an effort.

And remember by you trying to talk back in Hindi to them, they don’t think you are doing a favour to ease the communication instead they subtly are trying to establish their dominance. Never fucking allow that to happen.

Just stop!
