I never new that “this” will work!

Indians by culture are very intruding. They have the least idea about concepts like individual space or privacy. Of course I love the idea of one ‘Vasudeva Kutumba’ but you cannot just barge into anyone’s intimate zone just like that and behave as if you are a long lost country cousin.

I stay at home most of the times, do few astrological consultations, browse the internet, watch TV, and then to take a break I decide to take a stroll by myself. But it isn’t as easy as it sounds.

A casual ‘hi’ and a ‘bye’ is perfectly fine for me, but then being forced to stand and talk is something I hate to do. It is my time, and honestly I didn’t take a stroll to meet you or talk to you. If you really want to have a chat with me, it is better you call me beforehand and we shall decide and meet up for a cup of coffee or tea. Do not infringe into my time and space at your convenience.

I had this person who used to pounce on me whenever he spotted me and then would drag me into a conversation. Well, whoever chats with me after me becoming a professional Vedic Astrologer, since the last 20 years 99 per cent of times they have only spoken about themselves and their lives, and never about me or my life. It is ok for me sometimes, but not always. As Indians, we are trained to keep a smile on our bloody face, and behave as if we never get angry. Expressing anger is considered to be rude, and in the process we indeed take a lot of shit from people who matter the least.

I of course am an astrologer, who has got answers to most of life’s problems but then as a human being I have my own limitations. I didn’t know how to get rid of this person. How to ignore him? And how to make him stop talking to me. He became a nightmare and I would take a different route every time I spotted him – at 40+ this was sheer cowardice on my part. God surely answers prayers, but not this kind of elementary ones.

Years passed, and I always failed miserably – sometimes to the extent that I stopped taking the bloody stroll in the evening. And one day finally it just happened, in fact without any effort from my side.

I stopped him casually and asked, “are you interested in investing a couple of lakhs in my upcoming feature film ‘Dwesha’ (Teaser out here @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DT9tobGNFoE&t=15s) ?” It was a Eureka moment I don’t know for him or me.  It has been 3 years now, and he hasn’t stopped me and dragged me into any conversation ever since. In fact, he takes a different route every time he spots me.

That is the power of money!!
